It’s a great way to meet new people and strike up new friendships. Food, drink, and fellowship usually follow in the Golf Clubhouse to await prize winners for the day.

Good Guys Golf Group

This group of golfers play on Wednesdays, usually on the Barefoot golf courses. This group has a golf handicap requirement with a handicap index of 18 or less. Various types of golf games are played each week to enhance the golfing experience.

Barefoot Ladies Group

This group started to help new and seasoned residents meet new ladies. It is intended to bring people together to form friendships. Members are from all over Barefoot, multi-family and single family residents.

All information is relayed through their Facebook page Barefoot Ladies Group. There we post our Happy Hours, special events, and information that may be interesting or important for our members to read.

This group is valuable for many women who are here on their own. Whenever one is sick or there is an emergency, help is a post away.

We are in the planning stages for upcoming larger events to be held at Putters. Once we have more information, it will be posted on our Facebook page.

Water Tower Road Beautification Group

The Water Tower Road Beautification Group is a volunteer-driven effort dedicated to improving the appearance and cleanliness of one of Barefoot’s key entryways. Since 2021, the group has proudly adopted a 7.1-mile stretch of Water Tower Road – spanning state, county, and North Myrtle Beach jurisdictions – through the Keep Horry County Beautiful program.

Recognizing that this road serves as a first impression of our community, the group organizes three litter pickup events each year, typically kicking off in the spring. Volunteers gather at the basketball court behind the Residents’ Club for a safety briefing, gear distribution (including vests, gloves, bags, and pickers), and team assignments.

Each team is responsible for a section of the roadway and works by walking against traffic on one side, then crossing and cleaning the other side on the return. The typical time commitment is about 90 minutes, making it a rewarding way to get some exercise and support the community. First-time volunteers are asked to sign a waiver before participating.

The group works in coordination with the North Myrtle Beach Police Department, which provides a patrol presence during cleanups for added safety.

Since the first event – which collected over 250 bags of litter – the group has seen a significant impact, with the most recent cleanup yielding just 25 bags. While litter remains an ongoing concern, the consistent effort is helping to keep this important corridor clean and welcoming.
