A Message from the President

December 1, 2019

– Joseph Gosiewski

It's been another busy and dynamic year at Barefoot Resort and Golf. It seems like we were just getting ready for our first BRRA Board meeting of 2019, blinked and are now preparing for the final meetings of the year.

As I write this, HTC is converting our homes and properties to fiber optic. The Cabana project is underway, which is the largest, most complicated project ever undertaken by a BRRA Board. We are in the process of electing a new BRRA Board of Directors for 2020. On December 9th and 12th, a Town Hall meeting will be held to allow all owners to provide input for resolution of the Water Tower Road fence issue, which would be the second largest project ever undertaken by a BRRA Board. In addition, we are reviewing the ideas put forth in your Strategic Planning workshop to see what can be put in place first quarter 2020.

It has been an honor and privilege to serve on the BRRA Board. Acting in the best interests of Barefoot as a whole and solving problems and issues to the benefit of the entire community is a challenge in the face of the accusations and personal attacks by those of a myopic view and personal selfish agenda. My Christmas wish is that the Barefoot community will come together in 2020 to solve whatever challenges come along without the rancor and vitriol of the past few years. I encourage everyone to get accurate information from the Newsletter, BRRA Website, attending meetings and speaking with your Board members. Do not rely on the neighborhood gossips, social media snipers and barstool experts who hide in the shadows.

This is the time of the year to give thanks. I want to thank the late Alan Rindfleish, Kathy Kemp, Glen Talley and Michael Atwood for their leadership before me. I learned something from each of them and their management styles every time we met. I appreciate the Board members I have served with through the years. Whether in agreement or holding polar opposite views, everyone has given their time and talent because they believe in the Barefoot community. Many thanks to all the volunteers and committee members I have worked with as Board liaison to each Committee. I am extremely grateful for the dedication and outstanding service of Kelly White and the fine staff at Ponderosa Management. Barefoot is truly fortunate to have them on our team.

Happy Holidays and best wishes for a happy, healthy 2020.
