Annual Holiday Bazaar & Fall Yard Sale Cancelled

September 1, 2020

~ Linda Ort

Dear Barefoot neighbor,

After consulting with members of the Barefoot Holiday Bazaar Committee, we have made the decision to cancel this year's Holiday Bazaar. With the continued uncertainty surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic, we do not want to put our volunteers, vendors or attendees at risk. Because of our space limitations within the Barefoot Golf Clubhouse, it is impossible to practice proper social distancing.

As you know, the proceeds of our annual holiday bazaar benefit Teen Angels, an organization that assists homeless and otherwise struggling North Myrtle Beach high school students by providing the little "luxuries" of teenage life, including schoolbooks, yearbooks, prom attire, personal care products, transportation to dentists and doctors, and so much more! These are students too old for foster care yet too young to do it all on their own, and they have made the tough decision to stay in school, despite the challenges, in hopes of a better future.

We will continue to support Teen Angels in any way possible. We are keeping in close touch with them, and they will let us know if there is any way our community can help in the months to come.

If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to e-mail us at barefootcaringcouncil@gmail.com.

Thank you for your past and future support of Barefoot Caring Council initiatives. We hope to be up and running again very soon!

Regards,
Maureen O'Callaghan and Linda Ort
