Beach Cabana Construction Update

February 1, 2020

The construction on the Beach Cabana continues to progress at a good pace. As you can see from the photos, the elevator shaft is even with the third floor of the condo next door and is almost done. The construction team is working to complete the stairwell and the exterior walls. In just a few weeks, they will begin the interior framing and start to run electrical wires and cable.

The weather has certainly been in our favor and hopefully will continue to cooperate. The subcontractors are currently working a 40-hour work week as contracted. Due to many variables, at this time we do not have a firm completion date for construction. We will keep you updated as progress is made.

NOTE from the Board of Directors:

It has come to our attention that some Beach Cabana enthusiasts are photographing and documenting the construction. While we appreciate this, we have been informed that some individuals have flattened the dune grass to get a better view and/or photograph.

The City has put the Board of Directors on alert that any destruction of the dunes could result in a closing of the beach cabana construction site with a stop-work order.

IT’S THE LAW!

The law in North Myrtle Beach is “up to $500.00 in fines and/or 30 days in jail.”

  • There is adequate space on either side of the construction site behind the fence to take photographs.
  • Please help us by "not" taking photos from the dunes and by notifying the authorities if you see someone violating the law.
  • Should it become necessary, security will be posted on site to ensure violators are caught and prosecuted.
    • This would become an unwanted but necessary cost to Barefoot Resort residents to ensure uninterrupted construction of the Beach Cabana.
