On Tuesday March 2, there will be a special election to fill the North Myrtle Beach City Council At Large seat formerly held by Bob Cavenaugh.

Registered voters in Barefoot Resort (including Yacht Club Villas, North Tower, The Retreat and Tuscan Sands) make up over 13% of the total registered voters in North Myrtle Beach. Windy Hill 2/Barefoot Resort is one of the most significant precincts in the city. However, in non presidential election years, less than 30% of those eligible to vote in this precinct do so.  A number of local races have been decided by fewer than a dozen households.
