Thank you BAREFOOT!

This year’s Annual Barefoot Holiday Arts and Crafts Bazaar benefiting Teen Angels was a HUGE success! The event was truly a Barefoot Team effort! Residents displayed their special arts and crafts, donated items for gift baskets, baked cookies and made soup for Santa’s Café, sold raffle tickets for our Wagon of Cheer, ensured that the public knew about our event through extensive marketing, setup and took down the vendor tables, and volunteered their time on Saturday to ensure that every part of our Bazaar was a success and great experience for our customers. We should all be very proud of our community! Because of our residents’ efforts and commitment,

Teen Angels of North Myrtle Beach will receive a donation of $11,600 from this year’s Barefoot Holiday Bazaar!

Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Special thanks go out to Dave Bennett, Food & Beverage Director Barefoot Resort & Golf, and his staff for all their help, guidance and generosity. This event would not have been possible without them. Also special thanks to Ponderosa, Office Depot, Walmart, Publix, Costco, Bi-Lo, Sam’s Club, Sand Dollars, and Chelsea McLoughlin, our Lifestyle Director, for their support!

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Teen Angels, it is a 501c3 non-profit organization providing support services to homeless and disadvantaged teenagers at North Myrtle Beach High School. The teenagers in this program are frequently flying under the radar of government agencies, receiving very little monetary and/or emotional support to ensure that they have an opportunity to complete a high school education. They are good students who are struggling to create a positive future for themselves, and the North Myrtle Beach community is fortunate to have the Teen Angels organization to help these students achieve their dreams.

The Annual Holiday Bazaar for Teen Angels is one of several charitable events throughout the year sponsored by the Barefoot Caring Council. The Caring Council is an organization of Barefoot residents who donate their time and resources to support local North Myrtle Beach non-profit organizations in need of our help! Throughout the year, the Barefoot Caring Council sponsors events for the Red Cross, Helping Hands, Mobile Meals, our local elementary and middle schools, the Annual Christmas Community Meal at the Greek Orthodox Church, Summit Place, and Myrtle Beach Major. Working together as ONE Barefoot community, we can make a positive impact on our community!

Sincerely,

Gwenn McDaniel, 2018 Barefoot Caring Council Chair
