Summer Reading Book Drive

The Summer Reading Book Drive has been welcomed by two local Elementary Schools for approximately five years now.

Barefoot residents generously donate new books for children in grades K through 6.

Book drop off locations are in Barefoot at the Residents Club and the Ponderosa Lobby.

The drive takes place for approximately one month at the beginning of the year. This year the drive will take place from February 1 to February 28, 2023. A listing of suggested book titles will be sent out under separate cover.

The books are collected, sorted by grade and then delivered to the schools where they are distributed by school personnel to children who do not have the advantage to access reading material during the summer months.

Since the inception of the book drive, we have collected more than 400 books!
