Charitable Endeavors for Remainder of 2023

Listed below are the charitable events the Caring Council will be participating in for the remainder of 2023. We hope that you will be able to support them.

Additional details regarding each of these events will be forthcoming as the dates get closer.

Semi-annual food drive benefiting North Strand Helping Hand: Our drive-thru food drive will be held on Friday, November 3 from 9-11 am. Residents will be asked to drop off their donations to the gazebo parking lot, just past the Residents’ Club, as we have done the past few times. For questions or comments, please contact the Food Drive Chairperson: Kathy Check (jc0589@sccoast.net)

Annual Holiday Bazaar: This year’s Holiday Bazaar is once again being held on-line. The on-line bazaar will run from Saturday, November 4 at 9am through Friday, November 10 at 3pm. All proceeds from the holiday bazaar benefit Teen Angels of North Myrtle Beach High School. Stay tuned for new information to access this year’s website. For questions or comments, please contact the Holiday Bazaar Co-Chairpersons: Marilyn Nairn (bugzmom.nairn@gmail.com or 724-984-0628) or Ann Seplow (annseplow@gmail.com)

Wishing Tree to benefit local NMB elementary school children/Myrtle Beach Manor: Each year the Caring Council collects gifts to give to children in need from three of our local elementary schools. We will be doing this virtually again this year, as we have done the past three years. In addition, as with last year, we will be adding some names of residents from Myrtle Beach Manor, an assisted living, memory care and skilled nursing facility. Sometimes these residents feel forgotten, and we welcome the opportunity to help make their holiday a little brighter. The dates for the Wishing Tree to be determined (November/December timeframe). A separate e-mail will be sent soon with additional information. For questions or comments, please contact the Wishing Tree Chairperson: Eileen Roddy (errncm78@gmail.com)

Annual Christmas Dinner: Mid-December. We will once again be collecting individually wrapped desserts for the Annual Christmas Dinner. The organization hopes to serve over 14,000 meals to those in need of a good meal. For questions or comments, please contact the Christmas Dinner Chairperson: Stephanie Hudson (stephanie@slhudson.com)

Thank you for your support!
