Barefoot Caring Council’s 2026 Children’s Summer Reading Book Drive was again a HUGE success. Our caring residents donated 219 new books, a record, with 45 more than last year!

Thank you to everyone who participated!

With the assistance of Lisa Wheeler, the books were organized by grade level and labels added to personalize each book. The books were distributed to the three local elementary schools on April 30, 2026: Waterway, Riverside and Ocean Drive.

Because of your generosity, children in our area will have the opportunity to enjoy reading during the summer months.
