Fall 2018 Beach Sweep a Success

NOVEMBER 1, 2018

A joint venture from the Beach Cabana Committee and the Lifestyle Committee resulted in a successful Beach Sweep on Saturday, October 20th. 39 volunteers from the Barefoot community and North Myrtle Beach & Myrtle Beach High Schools showed up to help clean our beach. They were a great group of volunteers. It is estimated more than 300 pounds of trash was collected and the data was reported on MyCoast.org.

We are thankful North Myrtle Beach High School assisted in getting the student volunteers. They were certainly a nice group and it was nice to have that many teenagers out on a Saturday morning here to assist us!

Our volunteers not only cleaned the beach but also the dunes.  This is the only time anyone is allowed on the dunes is during these clean ups. Volunteers walked North and South from the beach cabana from 33rd Ave down to the swash near Briarcliff.

Coffee and donuts were served to all our volunteers before they started.
