Lifestyle Committee Annual Report

The Barefoot Lifestyle Committee was formed in November 2017, when a group of approximately 25 residents from both the single and multifamily communities met at the Barefoot firehouse. The goal was to foster more interaction and communication between the two communities. We became a sanctioned committee under the BRRA in early 2018. Many of the original founders remain on the Committee. We also coordinate with the Cabana Committee and with Chelsea at the Resident’s Club to hopefully avoid overlapping events.

Our first event was a Meet & Greet at Putter’s Pub, in the back room. It was a stunning success with attendance at 130, the most we could take. The attendees were evenly divided between single family and multifamily residents.

Since that time, we have steadily increased activities and events for all residents. Two areas that the Lifestyle Committee committed to were the Annual Golf Cart Parade, and the Barefoot Yard Sales. The Committee took over the planning and execution of the parade, in order for all residents to participate. It had previously been limited to single family residents. Each year we have had more and more multifamily residents take part in the parade.

For the Yard Sales, The Lifestyle Committee committed to registering and placing signs for the multifamily communities and has seen a steady increase in participants from those areas. The Committee is also responsible for registering residents from the Dye Estates for these two activities.

The Lifestyle Committee also took the Pelicans Baseball Liaison under their leadership and attendance has grown over the years.

Since 2018, some of the events and activities have been:

  • Barefoot Queen Cruises
  • Murder Mystery Dinners at House of Blues and at Riga Tony’s
  • Shows at the Comedy Cabana
  • Meet and Greets at Putter’s Pub and at the Cabana
