MOBILE MEALS OF THE NORTH STRAND
Needs Your Help
The mission of Mobile Meals of the North Strand is to deliver nourishment to anyone in need of healthy meals: those unable to secure and or prepare their own due to health or inadequate financial means.
Mobile Meals depends upon the benevolence of corporate sponsors, area community churches, civic groups and individuals, as a means of enabling the continuation of the program. In addition to the cost of the meals, funding is needed to accommodate a delivery vehicle, fuel, maintenance, insurance, supplies, equipment etc. They are always in need of financial contributions. Your help is needed to continue and expand this humanitarian program.
If you would like to donate to the cause, please make a check with your contribution to: MMNS, 11th Avenue North, North Myrtle Beach, SC 29582-4323.
Drivers: A driver is needed for Wednesdays
If you are interested in becoming a driver, please call Dave Hardin at 843-798-1489.
We at Barefoot provide volunteers to deliver hot meals Monday through Friday every 7 weeks. Volunteers include trained drivers plus two individuals daily. “Packers” prepare the food bag for delivery and a “Runner” delivers the food bag to each recipient’s door. Without this, these lonely and needy people would not have daily hot meals and social contacts.
It usually takes 3-4 hours of your time, one day every 7 weeks. If we have many volunteers you would only volunteer 1 or 2 times per year for this humanitarian cause. We meet at St. Stephens Episcopal Church, 11th Avenue North, North Myrtle Beach at 8:30 am and are usually done by 11:30 -12:30 pm delivering 15-20 meals per delivery day.
If you are interested and would like to volunteer to become a packer or runner, please contact Joan Maleckar, 843-390-1302.
Thank you,
Joan Maleckar
