Museum Re-Opens Nov 2!

North Myrtle Beach Area Historical Museum is re-opening on November 2 with a newly appointed Executive Director Cathy Altman.

Altman is a Calabash, NC, native and has worked in various capacities at area chambers of commerce and other non-profit organizations in the area.
 
Altman has experience in researching, writing and securing grant funding, fundraising event planning and management, marketing, and public relations.
 
Altman has a love of history and her community. She served on the Museum's organizational start-up committee in 2005 and looks forward to implementing new programs, exhibits and events.
 
Altman lives in the Cherry Grove Beach section of North Myrtle Beach with her husband of 35 years and they have one son, Thomas.

The Museum’s mission is to foster a deeper appreciation for the culture, history, and science of the North Myrtle Beach area. Exhibits and programs focus on stories from the region’s first inhabitants to the development of today’s tourism industry.
