Pelicans Season Comes to a Close

SEPTEMBER 1, 2018

– Tom Reeder

While this year’s Myrtle Beach Pelicans team didn’t live up to previous year’s winning ways, they still provided some exciting moments for many Barefoot residents.  Barefoot residents enjoyed 20 ballgames in the specially priced luxury suites during the season.

The last Barefoot Night in the luxury suite was August 12th.  Twenty Barefoot residents and friends enjoyed a Pelicans 3-0 victory over the Wilmington Blue Rocks. Gary and Lauren Santos, owners in The Havens, took in the game with six other friends and family. Lauren said:  “It was a perfect evening and we all had a blast…even my mom who is not at all a baseball enthusiast. It really was a fun time and we appreciate you and Barefoot giving us this opportunity.”

Additionally, the Barefoot Lifestyle Committee organized a Barefoot Night at the Beach area in Pelicans ballpark on July 27th. Over 90 Barefooters enjoyed an all-you-can-eat-buffet while mingling with their Barefoot neighbors in this unique ballpark venue.  We hope to make this Beach Party an annual event.

Thanks for supporting these Barefoot activities and watch the website for more opportunities to enjoy minor league baseball again next season.
