Residents’ Club Committee Annual Report

~ Alice McLaughlin, Committee Chair

It’s been a busy year for the Residents’ Club Committee. New ADA toilets were installed in the men’s and women’s bathrooms. The chairs in the Arts & Crafts room were repadded and reupholstered. HVAC units were inspected. Several new umbrellas were added to the pool deck. Fencing around the kiddie pool was approved and will be installed shortly. All gym equipment is checked monthly and recently was assessed as being safe and in good shape.

With the potential for an influx of funding over the next several years from the new Barefoot Lakes development, under discussion is: new pool furniture; new windows in the club; a permanent structure to replace the annually rented tent; siding repair on the Club building; new bocce ball court; pickleball court expansion; new shuffleboard; auto lights and/or timers in the Fitness Room.

Some of these improvements will be funded out of the Residents’ Club reserve account. We are all awaiting the revised Reserve Study which should be completed and available August 1, 2023, and will give us better direction regarding budgeting for all expenses. As always, the RCC encourages residents to express any concerns and ideas for improvements to the Residents’ Club. Voting reps will be specifically asked for their input during a meeting planned for later this summer.

And we also want to remind our fellow homeowners to be sure to turn off all lights and fans as well as close any open windows when leaving any part of the Club building.
