Traffic Committee Annual Report

September 1, 2021

~ Michael Waters, Committee Chair

During 2021 the Traffic Committee worked alongside the Neighborhood Watch committee to insure traffic related issues in Barefoot were addressed in a timely manner.

The committee met with the North Myrtle Beach Police Department Community Liaisons a number of times this year. At the last meeting our request to obtain information on traffic infractions inside Barefoot was accomplished. We can now get monthly reports of all traffic citations issued. No names are furnished in the citation report received from the Police Department.

A letter was sent to City Council Representative Nikki Fontana to inquire if the swing bridge could be equipped with cameras so residents could see in real time if the bridge is open impeding road traffic. We are awaiting Ms. Fontana’s response.

In 2022 the Committee will continue to stay abreast of traffic related concerns in Barefoot and work with the NMBPD to address all concerns.
