Website Committee Annual Report

NOVEMBER 1, 2018

– Pat Heerey, Website Committee Chair

2018 has been a busy year for the Website Committee. A solid number of Barefoot residents have registered on the official BRRA website. We continue to encourage owners to visit the website monthly for Board approved current Barefoot information. The eblast announcement of News Center refreshes regularly brings the highest monthly response rates and visits to the barefoothoa.com website.

Our primary goals are to bring our residents back to the website regularly, to increase registrations, and to increase ease of use.

Hundreds of pages of information about Barefoot Resort and its 26 unique neighborhoods have been loaded onto the website, including BRRA meeting minutes and financial reports, many neighborhood Board minutes and financials, many BRRA Committee meeting minutes, many articles and pictures, as well as late breaking alerts in the scrolling announcements. All pages are available to Barefoot owners for their review.

The Directory is a password-protected section that lists all the registered Barefoot owners. The number of registered owners has increased significantly during 2018.

Our Website Manager Michelle Mate has made our BRRA goals achievable. She is a dependable guard of our personal information and dedicated to making our Barefoot website timely and accurate. Our web host via 90 Degree Design continues to support the BRRA with hosting, maintenance, and programming needs.

Highlighted events this past year included:

  • Website Operations:
    • Web hosting, website backup, website programming, and website maintenance
    • Programming costs included changes to the document library, login timer, registration, and directory to make navigating easier.  2018 programming also included a complete redesign of the News Center display on the home page to make accessing news information much more user friendly, since this area of the website is most visited by our residents.
  • Web Manager: Our contract renewal for Michelle Mate was approved by the BRRA Board.
  • Website Marketing:
    • An advertising flyer was created to distribute to event attendees.
    • A voting member workshop took place in July; the workshop featured an online presentation to highlight key website advantages.
    • An advertising insert was included in the Sand Dollars magazine at its Easter mailing.
    • An August postcard was mailed to Barefoot residents who had not registered with two $100 winners incentive.
    • The $100 winners were announced in the October refresh:
      • Margaret and Monty Hukill who live in Cedar Creek
      • Roy and Gail Howard who live in Park Hill

The Committee is currently working on:

  • Prioritizing programming fixes needed for 2019.
  • Creating advertising tools targeting those who have not yet registered to register.
  • Regularly reviewing monthly analytics to better understand user interests and priorities – and to recommend changes to enhance user visits.
  • Adding committee members, as Pat Heerey resigned effective November 1. She is moving out of the area.
