NORTH MYRTLE BEACH — An industrial park could soon be built near North Myrtle Beach off Water Tower Road, a two-lane highway currently undergoing a construction boom of both commercial and residential spaces.

The proposed development, Palmetto Coast Industrial Park, is slated to sit on 69 acres near the S.C. 31 interchange and will consist of three warehouse buildings totaling 514,500 square feet of space.

Potential tenants for the spaces are not currently known, however Myrtle Beach-based developer Development Resource Group said at a March 22 Planning Commission workshop they hope to attract major distributors such as beer or soda companies. The project received a unanimous blessing from the commissioners later that afternoon.

On April 2, 2022, we had the Windy Hill Spring Beach Cleanup. I would like to thank the many volunteers who showed up to help clean the dunes as well as the beach area. We had many turn out to help as well as lots of familiar faces back again. We all met at 46th Ave at the public beach access in Windy Hill. We had grandparents with their grandchildren as well as a couple of owners with their dogs. Everyone is invited back again in the fall when we will clean up the area after our summer visitors.

Spring 2022 Drive-Thru Food Drive Results

North Hand Helping Hand was very thankful to receive 2003 lbs of food from the recent drive-thru food drive.

Thanks to all who took time to purchase items and deliver them to the truck, along with many monetary donations. Without your help none of this would have been possible.

WATCH vs. WARNING
KNOW THE DIFFERENCE

A HURRICANE WATCH issued for your part of the coast indicates the possibility that you could experience hurricane conditions within 48 hours.
This watch should trigger your family's disaster plan, and protective measures should be initiated, especially those actions that require extra time such as securing a boat, leaving a barrier island, etc.

A HURRICANE WARNING issued for your part of the coast indicates that sustained winds of at least 74 mph are expected within 36 hours or less.
