The city council met once in July for their regular monthly meeting at which time there were no items of interest to Barefoot Resort.

The council did approve the 9-11 memorial service on September 11th, and SOS Fun Monday on September 18th, and the winter run for January 20, 2024.

The planning commission held a workshop and regular meeting on July 18, at which time the Blu Water Development application was voted to be denied for recommendation to the city council. The BRRA Board recorded a letter to the city advising support for the Blu Water Development project.

The last city council meeting was held August 21st at which time under new business:

A. The ordinance/first reading: Petition for Annexation and Zoning Designations for +-.70.78 acres at the intersection of Highway 22 and Highway 31 NOTE: Petitioner has requested to postpone to the council meeting on September 18th.

B. Ordinance/First Reading: Amendment to the Barefoot Resort Planned Development District (PDD) creating Barefoot Lakes NOTE: Petitioner has requested to postpone to the council meeting on September 18th.

C. Second Public Hearing: Regarding the amendment to the Barefoot Resort PDD Development Agreement creating Barefoot Lakes NOTE: Petitioner has requested to postpone to the council meeting on September 18th.

D. Ordinance/First Reading: Amendment to the Barefoot Resort PDD Development Agreement creating Barefoot Lakes and to authorize the City Manager to sign the document on behalf of the city: NOTE: Petitioner has requested to postpone to the council meeting on September 18th.

In other business, Mayor Hatley declared and read a proclamation: Daughters of the American Revolution for Constitution Week September 17-23, 2023.

Mayor Hatley and the council announced recognition of the 9-10 year old AAA Dixie Minors All-Star Baseball Team, in attendance.
