City Liaison Report

On January 24, 2024, several residents, including Maggie, Marie, Allan, and myself, had the privilege of attending the Horry County Sales Tax Commission Public meeting at the City of North Myrtle Beach. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss potential projects eligible for RIDE4 funding throughout the county, and I am thrilled to share that our Barefoot Swing Bridge replacement is among the considered projects.

This is an exciting development as it marks the initial step towards making our bridge replacement a reality. However, for this to progress further, your support and participation are crucial. If the bridge replacement project is approved to be included on the ballot, we will have the opportunity to vote on it. It’s a chance for us to actively contribute to the decision-making process.

The Horry County Sales Tax Commission is keen on hearing from the community, and they’ve specifically requested our input. Your thoughts and opinions matter, and your voice can make a difference. Please take a moment to share your views on the Barefoot Swing Bridge replacement project by contacting RIDE4@horrycountysc.gov.

This achievement is a result of residents like you speaking up, and it reflects the responsiveness of our elected officials. Let’s continue this positive momentum by keeping the lines of communication open.
